Leslie Park has a Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station linked to the website Weather Underground (Station KMIANNAR33)
This weather station gives me a plethora of information, including wind direction and speed, dialy, monthly and yearly rainfall as well as current rainfall rates and storm totals, barometric pressure, relative humidity, wind chill, heat index, dew point, solar radiation (sunlight in watts per square meter) as well as calculating evapotranspiration rate (ET) which is an estimation of the amount of water a plant actually uses. There is also a possiblity of expanding the station to include multiple soil moisture sensors which would monitor the amount of water in the soil.
This is a great tool that enables me to tailor the amount and duration of the irrigation during the summer months to the conditions at the golf course.
